The main purpose behind adjusting a restricted segment in the spine is to improve posture, increase ROM, and blood flow restricted area to prevent Arthritis and other muscoskeletal conditions.

As a chiropractor, Dr. Riaz will do a proper consultation, orthopedic examination, neurological examination to determine what part of the spine is subluxated and needs to be adjusted.

During the adjustment, there might be a sound of crack or pop which is just gas releasing from the joint and is completely normal.

Stretches and exercises

During the session, Dr. Riaz will demonstrate stretches and exercises to loosen up tight muscles and strengthen the weak muscles. The benefit of stretching along with getting chiropractic adjustment is to increase flexibility and mobility in the upper and lower extremities. After the consultation and examination Dr. Riaz will determine what kind of stretching is more appropriate for the patient. There are several different types of stretching that can be done at home or in a gym setting.

Cold Laser

What is Cold Laser Therapy?

LLLT, short for low-level laser therapy is also known as photobiomodulation (PBMT), cold laser therapy, low-intensity light therapy, and soft laser therapy. Studies have confirmed that such kind of applications has excellent pain-relieving properties, as well as the ability to improve the functioning of various cells.

When it should be used?
Low-level laser therapy has been found to be effective in numerous medical conditions and associated symptoms. Regardless of the condition for which it is used, LLLT has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, it helps with edema and promotes faster healing.

It has been demonstrated that this therapeutic solution could relieve short-term pain in acute and chronic conditions, including rheumatic disorders (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis), neck pain, joint disorders (chronic) and tendinopathy.

Chronic pain

The low level laser therapy offers pain relief in those who suffer from chronic low back pain and it can stimulate wounds to heal faster. It helps with acute conditions, such as the frozen shoulder and it eliminates the muscle pain associated with intense physical training (exercise-induced muscle fatigue). LLLT is effective for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, providing relief from both pain and inflammation.

A number of orthopedic conditions can be successfully addressed through the use of low level light therapy. Faster healing is guaranteed in case of sprains and strains, as well as pain relief. The therapy can reduce the severity of postoperative pain, it can improve functioning after whiplash injury and it can help with the manifestations of radiculopathy (cervical or lumbar). Other conditions that can be treated with LLLT include chronic regional pain syndrome, tendinitis, post tibial fracture surgery, and epicondylitis.
